Capabilities

From a worthwhile idea to product readiness.

VitaeForge is organised as seven development disciplines, in order. They are a route, not a menu — and each stage carries the authority to end a project. What follows is what happens at each stage, and what would stop a product there.

01

Discover

Define the need precisely, and decide whether it is worth pursuing.

  • Investigate the problem, the person affected, and the evidence around it.
  • Map the real constraints — scientific, commercial, regulatory.
  • Establish whether a need is significant and under-served.

Ends here ifThe need is not real, not significant, or already well served.

02

Formulate

Design a candidate against the need — not around an ingredient.

  • Select the delivery format that fits how the product will be used.
  • Resolve physical behaviour: solubility, dispersion, texture, handling.
  • Begin sensory design as a technical requirement, not a finish.

Ends here ifNo candidate can plausibly meet the need within real constraints.

03

Prototype

Make something real at small scale, built to be challenged.

  • Produce a handleable, tastable, measurable prototype.
  • Expose it to honest evaluation rather than presentation.
  • Learn what the composition could never have told you.

Ends here ifThe prototype cannot be made to behave as a product must.

04

Validate

Test against evidence, and reject what fails.

  • Examine safety, stability, performance and acceptability.
  • Hold results to evidence, not enthusiasm.
  • Advance only what the evidence supports.

Ends here ifThe evidence does not support advancing. Nothing proceeds on promise.

05

Engineer

Resolve the coupled trade-offs into one coherent product.

  • Reconcile efficacy, sensory experience, stability, sourcing, cost and compliance.
  • Manage the couplings — moving one term moves the others.
  • Converge on a design that holds together under all of them at once.

Ends here ifThe trade-offs cannot be resolved into a product worth making.

06

Ready

Prepare the product for the real world.

  • Confirm manufacturability at the intended scale.
  • Establish quality, documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Verify the unit economics that let a product exist affordably.

Ends here ifIt cannot be made responsibly, consistently, or at a viable cost.

07

Make

Move to production, drawing on manufacturing capability.

  • Produce consistently, at scale, to specification.
  • Maintain quality and consistency as an ongoing discipline.
  • Keep every unit behaving like the one that was validated.

OngoingQuality and consistency are maintained, not assumed — continuously.
